The 2022 Pas de Deux Dance Photography Conference is being held from Thursday evening, February 24, to Sunday evening, February 27, at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas.

This conference is for those just starting out, for freelancers, and for veteran photography studio owners. We support photographers working with small town dance schools, suburban studios and major professional companies - and everyone in between. Learn studio lighting, posing, dance terms, workflow, marketing, and more.

Thursday night starts with the announcement of the 2022 Pas de Deux Dance Photography winners and finalists.

Pas de Deux 2022 is full of opportunities for indoor and outdoor shooting with dancer models. There are photographer-led photo walks, optional off-site and on-site sunrise and golden hour shoots, and individual dancer model check outs.

The Hyatt Lost Pines

The Hyatt Lost Pines in Austin provides a beautiful backdrop of dance photography. Located on 405 acres in Texas Hill Country, Lost Pines offers photographers a beautiful location for gathering together. Photographers will be able to walk the grounds for photo walks and use the spaces for dancer check outs through the weekend.

Conference rates can be extended for three days before and after the conference for photographers wishing to stay in Austin for more photo shoots or for a personal getaway.

Chicago - July 2021

This is a 2-day-plus Pas De Deux Workshop on July 16-18, 2021, with instructors David Hofmann and Ron McKinney.

All learning is done through demonstration and hands-on experience. Working with pre-professional dancers, photographers will develop skills in outdoor natural light photography, studio portraits, and editing. Your registration includes refreshments for our social event on Friday evening, and lunch on Saturday.

Friday evening's social event, and Saturday's workshop experiences take place at Ron McKinney Photography - 800 McArdle Drive, Unit G, in Crystal Lake, Illinois. On Sunday, we will spend the day in Chicago, beginning with a sunrise shoot at the Adler Planetarium. Spots are limited to 60. You may bring a dancer with you.
