Luke & Kami

Luke Hansen and Kami Weddick have been photographing people together for years with Luke’s company, Rocket Salt. Somewhere along the way, they discovered they’re both a little obsessed with the part of photography that happens before you press the shutter: reading the room, making people laugh, building trust fast, and figuring out how to get a real expression out of someone you met approximately 45 seconds ago. Between them, they’ve photographed thousands of people, hired and trained photographers, led teams, and spent a frankly unreasonable amount of time thinking about what makes picture-day culture work. Their approach is equal parts intentional and ridiculous, built on the belief that photographers do their best work when they feel supported—and dancers give you their best when they feel comfortable enough to be themselves. Kami and Luke are excited to share the practical tools, tiny tricks, and hard-earned lessons they’ve picked up from years of creating organized chaos together.
