Lee Gumbs

After purchasing his first SLR camera at the age of 16, Lee Gumbs was able to learn his way around the many settings on a camera. During his senior year of High School he was photographer on the yearbook staff capturing memories that would be with his graduating class for a lifetime. This is where he first got introduced to photoshop and the editing process of touching up photos. Being a dancer since the age of 8, dance photography is a passion and focus of his. After graduating he began touring with professional dance company Bad Boys of Dance where he would use many of his cast members as subjects to photograph around the world. At the age of 21 he moved to LA where he began photographing professionally. Lee has had the pleasure of photographing some of this industries most prestigious dancers dancing on hit shows; Dancing With the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance and for artists such as Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Jason Derulo, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, and more. He has worked with dance companies BodyTraffic and Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company and tap company Syncopated Ladies. He has been published in numerous magazines and has photographed the covers of Dance Magazine & Inside Dance. He has also photographed campaigns for multiple brands. Lee is very excited to see where else his path in photography will take him.
