One Light, Two Lights, Three Lights, and More: Lighting Setups for Volume Shoots
Monday, February 15, 2027
10:00 AM - 11:15 AM
Audubron Ballroom
What's your lighting setup? It's one of the most repeated questions in volume dance forums. Rarely do you get a simple or complete answer.
In this 75-minute class, we'll walk through lighting for volume dance shoots, starting with a single light and building up to a six-light setup. Along the way, we'll focus on what matters most: keeping your lighting consistent from dancer to dancer, so post-processing stays streamlined instead of turning into a one-by-one rescue mission. Your future editing self will thank you!
If you're new to volume dance and aren't sure how to light consistently with the gear you have, this class will help you choose a scheme that fits your equipment (including the questionable stand collection you may already own). If you've been shooting volume for a while, come fine-tune your setup, compare notes, and maybe steal an idea or two.
You'll leave with a lighting diagram and equipment list for each setup, so you can build what works for your space and gear.
