Lighting Dancers: Exploring different ways to illuminate our subject.

Monday, February 15, 2027

12:15 PM - 1:30 PM

Audubron Ballroom

During this class, we will be exploring different ways to light our subject to achieve some depth and visual stimulation. Playing with light has led me to countless discoveries through trial and error, having an open mind and explorative approach is necessary to discovering new techniques. I think this route is crucial in developing your own aesthetic, rather than copying and pasting from something you may have seen in a tutorial. I want to guide the class in honing in on lighting techniques and use of shadows to allow a mistake to turn into a new discovery. The different ways to light a subject is limitless and after this class I want attendees to feel a little less intimidated when discovering what lighting aligns with them.
