This lecture will start with understanding a client’s needs or wants in their session and making it feel personal to them from choosing wardrobe to understanding their movement and how best to capture it. I will share ways to help connect you with your clients in the little time leading up to the first shot, which I think is important because if a subject doesn’t feel comfortable I think it is palpable in the photographs. Beyond just the photos, I think it’s important to share how we can navigate boundaries and advocate for ourselves in situations that may have some friction between a photographer and client. Lastly, I want to discuss etiquette after the shoot when we are conversing about post production to seal the deal and continue to have happy clients which in turn means more business for us. After this class I want the attendees to feel more confident connecting and breaking the 4th wall with their future clients so they become returning clients and their business will blossom.
